Hello all.
Apologies if this is a common issue, but I am pretty much a rookie when it comes to html and css (hence using a WYSIWYG web page editor such as openelement). I used openelement to redesign an existing website around 3-4 years ago and haven't touched it since. Realising that it was still incomplete, I decided to work on this week and have discovered that not only do I not remember what I did when creating the pages, but I don't remember how openelement works either. Most of the pages use a similar format and were probably copied from the original page I created and then modified. I'm not sure exactly, but it sounds like the sort of thing I would have done (as I'm not familiar with using templates). The problem I have is that I have four pop-up menus at the top of each page, but for some reason, when I clone the existing pages to create new ones, the menus stop working. If I select one of the non-working pop-up menus and click the "settings" option, the first page of the window appears asking for the element to attach and the trigger. The element option is blank. I can select the box to show available elements, but the fact it isn't populating this automatically suggests something in the configuration is missing. Not only that, but when I select the available elements, they all appear to show the menu options for the first menu only, again suggesting some sort of corruption. I have tried copying the missing elements (non-visible elements) from a working page but it doesn't seem to work. Here is a working page: http://www.hussars.online-gamers.org.uk/1stHussars/members/flasheart.htm And here is a non-working one: http://www.hussars.online-gamers.org.uk/1stHussars/members/melchett.htm Any assistance you can give would be gratefully received. p.s. - I have noticed that the links to the openelement wiki are not working. Is this no longer available or has it been moved somewhere else?

The trick to use is to create the menus in a layer and attach this single layer to each pages.
To acquire better openElement knowledge, my
suggestion is that you spend some time
looking at the video tutorial on this YouTube
playlist. In addition, there are other videos on this other
YouTube playlist You will find several user tutorial here In addition to the models available from
openElement’s library you may have a look to those offered by Sensode In addition to OE’s standard elements, some
additional user designed elements are available
here P.S. It is important that you understand that all
help provided here is given by volunteers. We are not openElement’s staff. We are happy to help when we are available to
provide tips, tricks, and sometimes a few code lines. We appreciate that users
make a serious research and self-study effort. Some of us work in Europe, others around the
world. Consequently, the response time may also depend on time zones. When the requirement is too great, it can be
contracted and the required retribution will pay for the development. Always take care to open a new subject for
each of your questions |

Thanks for that. I had avoided doing that (probably through ignorance). I have now recreated the menus on the base layer and will have to manually update each page to remove the page-specific versions of those elements. At least it works now.
