Here is another very useful tool. It converts images in css code...(for an image 250x270 I had about 1,3 mb in text)
Try it and see yourself the result http://javier.xyz/img2css/ ![]() |

For what purpose would that be used?
This question is not to offend you, it's a simple question. I can not figure out any reason for such conversion. |

Well, it is possible using it, for example, if you need to protect an image so it can't be cloned... try yourself and see what's happens... this makes avoid the use of some plugin used in Word Press

One can always take a screenshot (in this case with any zoom factor so he may obtain a very high-quality copy)...

Possible, but try to see the difference between the normal image and the one made in css.
If you see the code, it takes every dot of the image and apply a rendering on that. After the image is completed, the rendering will be the best than before, 'cause treated in deep singular data, dot by dot... I know it's not the best, but if needed... |

It may be efficient for small image especially if they nee dto change according to media query (screen size or printer).

This for sure, 'cause for an image 250x250 px it gives a file of about 1,3 mb...in effect it can be useful for picture like those for documents...

1) 1.3mb is a lot for this size but 2) usually the data will be automatically gzipped (compressed) so it will be less to load and 3) it heavily depends on the image, whether it has big patches of monotone color

Exact! I tried to gzip the txt file obtained and it results "288 KB (294.912 byte)"and surely as it is a color image it could be less when converted to a b/w one... anyway it is not a tool to be used always as we can see it uses a lot of space...
