Trying the horizontal and vertical carousels for first time I found that when viewing in browsers ( Firefox,Chrome and IE10 )  the images disappear  as you scroll through .

That is - if they scroll off the page they will not appear again when you scroll in reverse direction.

Tried several times - also tried after reloading OE and starting a new project so conclusion is that something is not right !
cheers

As first thing I would suggest to publòish all your pictures in a dimensioned way. I mean: if you publish many images 2048x1280 (example) it can happens that they take too much vram and resources. Usually I don't use more than 1024x768 and jpg format and this gives me good results.Remember every image is "exploded" when opened, so they need more vram and ram.

2nd thing: it is a good idea to clean our cache, 'cause many trash is in there... I use ccleaner and I see good results.
Hope this can help ;-)

Hey guys,

So I was able to reproduce the problem once.  But somewhere in between loading a new style preset, reverting to the original, quitting the program and restarting it, the problem disappeared.

We're still looking into it, but see if any of those things factor in.  By the way, did you upgrade the software after starting this project?

Best

Chris

Hi,

Please make sure you use the latest version 1.42R7, if not you can download it here:

http://download.openelement.com/openElement.exe

If problem persists, please try to publish your site online somewhere and give us the link.

Good day
D

Hi

I am using OE1.42 R7 - sorry forgot to mention. Also I have 8gb RAM and 1gb Vram. Processor I7 2.7ghz 8 threads

I tried a horizontal carousel which this time seemed to work fine using abiut 5 images low res around 300x300 each .jpg. Also tried some larger around 1300x750 jpg and bmp with and without "optimisation" and all displayed without problem.

But using some of the same images with the vertical carousel I immediately experienced problems.

Unfortunately cannot publish as at this stage only learning the OE features and do not have web space.

Please try saving the page with the vertical carousel on it before previewing it.  In my tests, this worked perfectly.

Saving the page BEFORE previewing seems to fix the problem.

But I did note that when the default style was applied to the the vertical carousel there were no navigation buttons.  This was after saving the page.

The "medical "  style preset  was ok with its blue navigation buttons.
cheers

So, it turns out the naming convention is a bit confusing.

Defaut_Automatique is the name of the Style Preset in the Cloud Library (just like the other is called medical_carousel_vertical). It is, in fact, just a style preset with no buttons on it.

To really revert to default, you must select "X None" under Website Style Preset at the top of the same menu. This will strip the element of any predefined style options and truly revert to default.

But if you confirm that saving the page before previewing works, then I think the issue is resolved.
