What do I misinterprete?
https://nocoins.org (very early stage) 1-3) When I use the implemented SEO settings, I come to some confusion. Shouldn't the settings be relayed/inherited to all pages, based on the Template/layer? When this layer ist used in that particular page, and if the selection is enabled. Means when I put the SEO specs in the BaseLayer, it should be inherented to all pages with that Base Layer. But this is not the case. Especially the HomePage/index seems to be BaseLayer-indepedend of the SEO matter. (3-3) And, yes, I performed the maintenance rebuild page ... Could someone please enlighten me? No detailed info necesary, just a hint wold be nice. I'm quite comfortable with openElement now. Great tool, good job! 2-3) In the bottom part of the settings there are severals (pre-)defined metas. Some of them will be carried to the affected page, but some are not. May be the metas are not replaced if there already exists any information? 3-3) I have the feeling, that the BaseLayer does not affect the HomePage. Edited by digizar - Nov 08 2017 at 9:38pm |

Hi.
0. First of all, Google HATES duplicate content. So, it is out of question to allow inheriting much of SEO info from a common layer. 1. Title inheritance: this is a special feature that allows combining base layer's title and page title. I've made a test - put "Base" into the layer's title, "Home" into the home page's title, checked "Inherit" in both of them, and in the resulting code I've got "Base Home" as expected. 2. I am not sure how metas are carried through the inheritance, the've never behaved in stable way. You can always use a Code Block Source type HTML to write them manually, ex. <meta name="author" content="-digizar.de-" /> (make sure that same metas are not present in the bottom list). 3. See 0. If there's something that you think shoudl affect inheriting pages but it does not, please indicate. |

Thanks, Dmit !
0. duplicate content. I knew that, it just came up why it didn't work even if it was selected. 1. Title inheritance. Yes I noticed, and I wondered. But now I know the reason. 2. metas. I can live with that. It looks as if there are two 'sets' simultaneously in access. 3. something affected. Not really right now. With the next project around the corner I'll make more 'investigations'. Thanks again for that glorious tool. Edited by digizar - Nov 08 2017 at 9:36pm |
