oE 1.57.9
Source is on microdigi.org (access codes will follow via PN).

I created a very rudimentary website from scratch (as I did several times ago with other projects).
It's located on microdigi.org, reference see screenshot further down (Reliefart).

Two discrepancies came up, which are strange for me.
May be I make a mistake, so if I could ask for a short explanation/enlightment, it would be great.

1) The 'impressum' button is created in the BaseLayer, as usual when needed on several pages.
That button appears on other pages (which base on this layer) on a different location.
Some centimer shifted upwards.
I use the Sections TopArea and LeftArea only.

2) I used my created style of the right handed Style column to specifiy the behaviour of that button,
named 'menu_button'.
That worked perfectly, as usual.
But ... I changed the mouse-over appearance, so that the border then becomes a different colour.
That works fine in the BaseLayer, but not on the pages based on that BaseLayer;
the border stays at the color as defined for the NormalState.
I copied (cloned) the 'impressum page' from the HomePage.
I did not touch the Layer's Styles in the upper control bar, there wouldn't bo such border selection anyway.
It does neither work in ExportToFolder nor in (Complete)PublishToWeb.
And it even does not work on the individual page (Home, impressum) in the editor.

I created several other websites, and it always worked perfectly.
What did I probably miss here?

Thanks for reading and for spending the time.

Hi,

1) Please give links to 2 pages between which the button placement changes

2) Please indicate on which page the "menu_button" is located and how it looks on the page.

I have nearly no spare time left so I can't check the project or FTP, but with pages published online I can probably find it quickly.

The BaseLayer contains ALL buttons and styles (only one menu_button style).
The pages -with some individual content- rely on the BaseLayer.
The placement difference ist between the BaseLayer and the pages (the HomePage).
I think they acutally should be on the same place as in the BaseLayer,
but they shift upwars by half a centimeter on the pages.
Looks like the HomePage has 'some specialties'.
And these specialties are carried over to the cloned 'impression' page.

I don't have a clue yet why the mouseover does not work as expected.

Anyway...
don't care for now! I'll find my way :-) Because I have plenty of time, and no pressure.
If found, I will place the result here - and set the topic to *solved*.

The ftp content will stay there ... just in case.

For me the IMPRESSUM button does not change position between homepage and impressum page.

Sure not - because I fumbled it. LOL
So in real world it would look nice, and it does so.

The discrepancy lays between the BaseLayer and the HomePage and all sucessive pages.
The HomePage seems to be some kind of independent specialty, since the background size looks some kind of independent of the BaseLayer.

I cloned the HomePage and renamed that clone for a new page > (Impressum). That caused some 'deplacements'.
One should not do that cloning of the HomePage, but rather create a new page and select the BaseLayer as 'foundation'.
From then on one may clone such page, but it seems to be even simpler to create new pages.
For my part that topic ist cleared now, though still 'somehow strange' for me.

Fiddling now on the Style 'mouseover'.
Which does not work (yet), even if I create a new page directly founded on the BaseLayer.
The BaseLayer is working correctly in the editor, and shows the correct results on mouseover.
But that Style (mouseover) is not carried to the derived pages, based on that BaseLayer.
The mouseover event as such works, I can see it, because if I specify 'underline on mouseover' it underlines.
But none of the colored actions appear, not even the 'Shadow'.
Everything else works fine with that Style, except the colors on mouseover.
Very strange, but I'll 'rent a cat' and kill that mouse. *ggg*

Nothing to do right now for you.
Keep on rolling.

The HomePage was not based on the Base Layer, it was based on 'None'.
As soon as I assigned the Base Layer, it worked.
And the following pages should carry the section's 'inherit' setting.
