1) We can't rename the download as external websites, blogs, articles etc. that indicate it would become obsolete.

2) The main role of download websites in this case it to improve search engines' OE ranking, and to let users and experts comment and vote. It is however true that since some time, the amount of added "options" is badly increased, and it gets more and more risky to download there. So we've stopped "propoting" those downloads, but we don't yet risk exclude them completely - even as it is, outside Europe it's nearly impossible to find OE...

I recommend to specify the version in the downloadable setup's name:
something like openElement_setup_1578.exe
It's confusing, to name the setup exactly as the created executable.

Also...
it might be a brilliant idea to mention on the original downloadpage (Home ... Download)
that one should take the programm ONLY FROM THIS ORIGINAL SOURCE.
Otherwise bad guys will take it and offer it on their advertising page with some 'options' added, which usually ends in chaos. The simplest what could happen, is to change the standard search engine; but there are heavier viruses on stock.
You can not really prevent that, but at least you warned your users.
